ALAGANG-ALAGA ng GMA-7 si Regine Velasquez.
       
Alam n’yo bang hindi pa nagsisimula ang soap opera na inilaan para sa singer-actress, ang Kim Sam Soon, ay may ikinakasa na silang bagong weekly musical show para kay Regine?
   
Wala pa raw title ang show, pero tiyak na maiibigan ng lahat ng mahilig sa mga awitin ng Asia’s Songbird.
   
Ayon sa aming source, mas mauuna pang ipalabas ang weekly show ni Regine, kesa sa Kim Sam Soon.         Ang soap ni Regine ay mapapanood daw either sa June or July pa sa primetime block ng Kapuso network.
   
Samantala, ang birthday special ng singer-actress na iti-teyping sa April 11 ay definite nang ipalalabas  bilang isang weekend special.

I was hoping she would do Kim Samsoon first.  The Samsoon loonies are excited to see a local version of this Korean drama, but they are prolonging the wait.  Sigh.  And I thought May would be the target month.  Hmff.

This is such a problem for me, schedule-wise.  Kim Suna’s new drama (When it’s at night) is supposedly going to be shown by June, so I will be hounding the net again for torrents.  Her movie is also reportedly going to be released on that month.

Then, Ms. Go’s (Go Hyun Jung) new drama is also set to start shooting on May.  And by June, promo pics are going to be all over the internet. 

Then the local Kim Samsoon is also going to be shown on June?  Aigoo!  I’m truly going to be super busy.  Waaaah!!

Pinaghahandaan na ng GMA-7 ang Pinoy version ng Kim Sam Soon na pagbibidahan ni Regine Velasquez.
   
Ipinadala na rito ang DVD copy ng ipinalabas sa Channel 7 and this early, gusto na nitong pag-aralan kung paano kumilos at magbihis si KSS.
   
Nagpagawa na rin ng studies ng wig na gagamitin ni Regine, dahil maiksi ang buhok nito, samantalang ang Korean actress na gumanap sa KSS ay medyo mahaba ang buhok at may bangs pa.
   
Sabi ng program manager ng show na si Rams David, nakipag-meeting na sila sa Songbird para sa gagawin nitong series at patuloy ang kanilang pagka-casting, pero wala pa rin silang mahanap na leading man.

Bakit hindi nila i-audition ang GMA Artists Center talents na sina Einar Ingebrigsten, Gino dela Peña at Ry Fariñas?
   
Mauunang gawin ni Regine ang kanyang birthday special na iere sa April 27. Wala pa itong title at ’di pa rin alam kung sinu-sino ang maggi-guest, pero tiyak na kasama ang nobyo niyang si Ogie Alcasid.

“Yes, as I’ve said, I love Regine very much!”

“No, we are not getting married — yet!”

“Yes, Michelle and I have remained good friends.”

“No, our daughters are not (adversely) affected by the situation.”

“Yes, Regine and Michelle are also friends.”

These are included in Ogie Alcasid’s second public “confession” after the first one a few weeks ago. In an exclusive interview with Funfare, conducted the other day, three days after he came home from a month-long concert tour of Canada and the USA, Ogie clarified the issues generated by his first “confession” to YES! magazine, reported by Funfare one week before the magazine hit the newsstands, and came to the defense of Regine who, he said, has been unfairly accused of so many things (including being “a homewrecker” and “a husband-grabber”) by people who don’t know the real circumstances behind his and Michelle van Eimeren’s failed marriage.

“What many people don’t know is that Michelle and Regine are friends,” said Ogie, now sounding easy and not defensive like he and Regine used to be while they were keeping their relationship under wraps. “Michelle and I have remained very good friends, too. I am and will always be, besides the father of our daughters, Leila (9) and Sarah (5), the brother that Michelle never had. Michelle is an only child. In Australia, Michelle would drive me around. She would tell me, ‘Ogie, you will always be a brother to me!’ It feels great!”

The truth is Regine and Ogie have spent two Christmases, in 2005 and 2006, with Michelle and her daughters — as well as Michelle’s own new love, a fact that Ogie would not confirm — in Australia, enjoying the holidays under one roof like one big happy family. Reminiscent of the “live and let live” lifestyle of Demi Moore, husband Ashton Kutcher and ex-husband Bruce Willis? You bet!

Here’s Funfare’s candid, no holds-barred interview with Ogie (who is leaving tomorrow for Brisbane, Australia, not to be with Regine who’s having a concert there but to visit Michelle and their daughters):

Why did you decide to make your (first) “confession” in June?

“I have to clear things with the companies whose products I am endorsing. Some of my contracts were expiring that month. I apologize to the public for denying about me and Regine but I had to do it because I thought it wasn’t time for us to come out in the open yet.”

Did you consult Michelle before you made that “confession?”

“In fact, she was the one who encouraged me to do it. She was behind me all along, all the way. She told me, ‘You deserve all the happiness in the world, you deserve your freedom’.”

Because you and Regine were holding everybody in suspense for months, keeping people guessing, there were speculations that you were getting married in (last) June.

“You know, Regine and I haven’t even gotten to the point where we discuss marriage. Before we make that decision, I first have to talk to her family. There are legal aspects to be fixed pa before we even think of getting married.”

But you do have plans of getting married, haven’t you?

“As we speak, all I can tell you is that I’m already attending to the preliminary stuff.”

Is it true that Regine’s family frowned in your “confession?” That Regine and her sister Cacai (who acts as Regine’s manager) are not speaking to each other because of that?

“No. Walang ganoon.”

How were your and Regine’s two Christmases with Michelle and your daughters?

“Oh, okay…okay. Very nice, very nice!”

Did you stay in the same house… in the guest room?

“Yes, in the same house. The house is big enough that we all have our own rooms…including the dogs! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!”

No animosity at all between you and Michelle?

“No, none at all. I think the animosity will come if I start fooling around. Michelle even jokes about it, ‘If you do anything (to Regine), I will kill you! So better behave.’ Wala…walang hassles among us.”

How nice. You’re like Demi and Ashton and Bruce.

“I like to think that I am the Ashton Kutcher in the relationship.”

Is Michelle happy with her own new love?

“I’m not saying that she has one. Ayokong magsalita, in respect for Michelle.” (Note: The Funfare DPA is sure that Michelle’s own love life is happy.)

Regine is being accused by some people of being a “homewrecker” and a “husband-grabber,” maybe because the YES! story mentioned that when you were confronted by Michelle about Regine, you said you denied it but when Michelle confronted Regine, Regine said, quote-unquote, “Yes, we are seeing each other.” Did Regine, hmmm, “wreck” your “home?”

“I was then protecting Regine. We were not ready to make public our relationship. Regine was not the sole cause of my break-up with Michelle; there were so many other things that I can’t discuss publicly. Nagkataon lang na nang pumasok si Regine sa eksena, my marriage was already shaky. It’s unfair for people to call Regine names. She didn’t do anything to destroy my marriage.”

How do your daughters Leila and Sarah feel about their situation?

“They’re okay. I have introduced Regine to Leila and Sarah who now call her ‘Aunt Regine.’ You know, Leila has this toy phone and she pretends to make a call. When I ask her who she’s calling, she would say, ‘Your girlfriend. She wants to talk to you!’ I would say, ‘How do you know?’ Then, she’d say, ‘You are her boyfriend, Dad!’ I guess it’s good that this early, they know the truth. I don’t want them to blame me or Michelle later in life.”

Oh, that’s nice.

“The moment Regine stepped into our house in Australia, she was welcomed with open heart and open arms by Michelle and our daughters. That was in Christmas 2005. We had this Christmas show at home and my daughters were pretending to have a concert, with their Aunt Regine as back-up singer.”

With your relationship out in the open, are you and Regine now living together?

“No, not yet.”

What about the house in Ayala Heights (Quezon City) that you are building?

“Hmmmm… Hopefully…”

At a presscon in L.A., Regine was quoted as saying that she would give up her career for love… for a family she wants to build with you…

“I was completely shocked by that. No, no, no. Of course, not! I don’t think it’s fair to her to quit her career. She might be domesticated for a while but she shouldn’t stop singing altogether. In that L.A. presscon, somebody asked Regine, ‘How would Ogie’s admission affect your careers?’ Regine answered, ‘Alam n’yo, kung hindi na ako tanggap ng tao, kaya kong i-give up ang career ko.’ But if you ask me, my answer is, ‘No way. It’s a God-given talent and she should use and enjoy it’.”

How soon are you having a baby?

“Well, it will come in due time. But it has to come after the legal aspects are cleared and only after we get married.”

The “clearing” of the “legal aspects” should be good for you and Michelle who might also want to marry her new love.

“Again, I’m not saying anything about her private life.”

Are you and Michelle working together on the “clearing of the legal aspects?” (Okay, okay, the annulment of their marriage.)

“Yes, we are. As I’ve said, Michelle and Regine are okay with each other, at okay rin kami ni Michelle. Since our separation, I’ve visited Michelle and our daughters seven times. I have regular communication with her and our children.”

You used to introduce Regine as simply “Asia’s Songbird.” How do you introduce her now?

“I would tell the audience, ‘Tonight is a very special night. I have with me My Love, Asia’s Songbird! I did that during my recent concert in L.A. with Regine as a guest performer.”

Of course, when the annulment is finalized, your daughters will stay with Michelle.

“Yes, of course, of course! I take my hat off to Michelle as a mother. She’s the best! For my part, I may have failed as a husband but I don’t want to fail as a father.”

By the way, how would you and Regine, Michelle and her new love, like to have a double wedding? Wouldn’t it be nice?

“It will be a ‘first’. Yeah, a ‘first!.’”

Everytime Ogie does an interview, he always make this angelic facade, as if he really has this purest of intentions. I wish it’s true. But only time will tell.

Sigh!

If I have a relationship like theirs, will the public (ano? sikat? lolz) and my family/friends accept it? I don’t think so. (My pretty unnie, Go Hyun Jung will hate me, my real unnies will slap me silly til death and my mom will definitely disown me. And of course, God will be very disappointed and angry. Why does Ogie and Regine try to ignore the last? Maybe they’re not afraid of Him. So sad )

Ogie on Regine: ‘We’re not hiding anymore’

Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid said he’s happy that his relationship with fellow singer and actress Regine Velasquez is now out in the open.

Ogie is separated from this wife, Australian Michelle Van Eimeren. Van Eimeren is a former Miss Australia who placed 11th in the 1994 Miss Universe pageant held in the Philippines.

Ogie and Regine were openly affectionate toward one another during their concert tour in the United States, billed as “Love to Laugh”.

“We’re not hiding anymore. You’re telling the world how you feel. And it doesn’t mean you don’t care about how people will react to that,” he told ABS-CBN.

“It’s just that you want to be honest. At this point in our lives we’ve told the truth, you know, and ah, a lot of people, I think we owe that to our fans that we tell them the truth and we did,” he said.

Regine and Ogie had long been rumored as a couple, even when he and Michelle were still together as husband and wife.

For a number of years, the local showbiz grapevine had also been rife with rumors about Regine’s supposed involvements with other married celebrities, including singer Ariel Rivera (married to actress and TV host Gelli de Belen) and singer Janno Gibbs (married to actress Bing Loyzaga), earning her a reputation for being a “home-wrecker”.

In the case of Ariel and Janno, however, their supposed affairs with Regine, known in the local media as “Asia’s songbird”, never went beyond the realm of gossip.

Both Ogie and Regine are mum about details regarding the exact time when they began their relationship.

Even an exhaustive interview on “YES!” magazine failed to get Ogie to reveal when exactly he and Michelle separated.

In separate statements, Regine and Ogie had explained that keeping certain details secret was important in protecting their loved ones.

In his interview with ABS-CBN, Ogie also revealed that Regine is on more than good terms with his estranged wife and their two daughters.

They’ve even spent two Christmases together.

“Yes. Two Christmases in fact. 2005 and 2006, lingid sa kaalaman ng mga tao (unknown to most peole). I think if you have the best intentions. If you have the purest of intentions, everything will be OK.”

“It’s very, very good. Kasi mga anak ko mahilig ring kumanta, pag nandun sya nagkakantahan sila (My children also love to sing, so whenever she’s there they sing together). They get along very well,” Ogie said.

Ogie said that marriage is inevitable for him and Regine but they both need to prepare their respective families for that event.

Ogie gave a message to Regine at the conclusion of the interview, thanking her for being patient and promising that everything will be all right.

“Ano lang kasi minsan ‘pag naririnig mo ‘yung mga kataga na, ‘Mahal na mahal na mahal kita,’ parang minsan eh redundant (sic) na. Pero ‘yun ang totoo and I really love you very much (Sometimes, when you hear the words ‘I love you’ it sounds like a cliché but that’s the truth, I really love you very much).”

“I really had a good time here in the States. In front of everybody it’s been, it’s the first time we’re actually holding hands in front of lots of people so I hope you had fun with me too.”

Regine Velasquez is apparently building a new house. She was seen shopping, with her interior designer Cynthia Almario, for an expensive kitchen system at Bontempi Casa, an Italian furniture center, at LRI Business Plaza on Reposo Street in Makati. Did she pick the one with the biggest price tag?

Wow, suzyal. Hope she’ll be happy in that queen-like kitchen, if ever she really buys it.

JUNE 20 na nakaalis si Regine Velasquez para sumunod kina Ogie Alcasid at Ai-Ai de las Alas sa States.

Guests sila ni Martin Nievera sa Love 2 Laugh concert ng dalawa sa Los Angeles at San Francisco.

Sa July 2 pa ang kanilang balik, kaya may ilang araw din silang magkasama.

Hindi na mami-miss ni Regine ang kanyang “papa.”

Marami pala ang nagpapayo sa GMA Films na huwag munang gawin ang pelikulang pagtatambalan nina Regine at Ogie na may working title na Love is Blind … and Deaf dahil baka dedmahin ng tao.

Centennial movie sana ito ng UP at naka-schedule ang shooting sa October, pero aabot pa rin ito sa centennial celebration ng university dahil June 18, 2008 pa ang grand celebration.

Baka next year, mas tanggap na ang relasyon nila.

May nag-advise sa dalawa na gayahin sina Angelina Jolie at Brad Pitt noong early years ng kanilang relasyon na kahit magka-holding hands ay hindi pa rin umaamin.

Kaya lang, nahirapan nang itago nina Regine at Ogie ang kanilang relasyon at umamin na.

Delilan: Falling and failing in love

I don t know what to do after I saw on television Ms. Regine Velasquez, Asia’s Song Bird, crying, begging and saying she is ready to sacrifice her career just for Ogie Alcasid.

Forgive me, but I consider such pronouncement of Ms. Velasquez as “weird” or “inappropriate”. I am not against Ms. Velasquez’ feelings towards Mr. Alcasid.

But I really don’t like the “script” that she uttered during a press interview in Manila saying that she’s gonna leave singing just for Oggie. Falling in love with Mr. Alcasid, of course, is “illegal” considering that he’s already a married man with kids.

However, we can’t also blame Ms. Velasquez if she finds something “worth” to fall in love with Mr. Alcasid.

It’s her own judgment on the guy whom she loves for the rest of her life.

But to utter words which are very, very inappropriate, I think it makes Ms. Velasquez a “simple-minded” girl. Meaning, she only succeeded in demeaning her own self being an “idolized” singer not only in the country, not only in Asia but even in the entire world.

Because Ms. Velasquez can still go on loving Mr. Alcasid without sacrificing her own singing career. She’s not the only well-known personality in the world who fell in love with a married man.

Take for example the case of Madonna and Pops Fernandez, among others. Falling and failing in love is normal for anyone. But to cry and say something weird makes anyone “stupid”.

Hope Ms. Velasquez can learn something from around her own celebrity circle and from somebody who has been in the same situation she is in now.

So what if she’s in love with Mr. Alcasid? Maybe Ms. Velasquez is “blessed” because we know that Ogie, aside from being a good composer and singer, is also a certified millionaire.

That’s why I don’t like Ms. Velasquez to give up her singing career just because of her love for Mr. Alcasid. She should remember that her singing prowess is one thing that put her where she is now. Therefore, the best thing she should do is to balance the two - career and love.

MANILA, Philippines — A very touching thought, indeed, but unthinkable.

Ogie Alcasid stressed he would not allow girlfriend Regine Velasquez give up her career for him.

The musician-TV personality said performing formed an important part of Regine’s life and he would never think of allowing her to sacrifice her career for the sake of their relationship.

“Para di ata kinaya yon. Pero hindi ko naman papayagang mangyari yon. I’ll never allow that to happen because parte na yan ng buhay niya at pagkatao ni Regine ang mag-perform so hindi naman pwedeng mangyari yon,” Ogie told GMA-7’s “Showbiz Central” on Sunday.

Ogie said if there was anyone who will make a sacrifice, it was him.

“’I’ll always take the back seat for her,” Ogie said.

Ogie was reacting to a pronouncement Regine made in press conference for Ogie’s US tour with comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas that she would willingly give up her career for him.

Regine and Martin Nievera are special guests in the California leg of the tour.

Ogie declared “everyone is happy” since his May tell-all on his separation from estranged wife Michelle van Eimeren and his current love, Regine.

“Bago ako nag-open up, na-consult ko si Michelle and she gave me great advice. It’s about time you do this and siyempre yung mga anak ko ganoon din.”

He said Regine even had become closer to Michelle and their children.

“Wow. It was very, very exciting. Siyempre yung mga anak ko parang kalaro nila si Regine. Si Regine at si Michelle, magkaibigan na sila. Ako ngayon ang lagot. But everyone is happy. Wala nang problema.”

Ogie denied rumors that he and Regine would make a sidetrip to Las Vegas to get married.

“Pag ok na ang lahat at pwede na pong mangyari yon. Ayan, pwede na nating ituloy yung ganyang mga pangyayari. Pero sa ngayon hindi pa.”

Ogie, Ai-Ai, Martin and Regine will perform at the Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco for the last leg of the tour.

Hindi masyadong pinag-usapan ang Ogie-Regine issue dahil natabunan ito ng news ng paghihiwalay nina Ruffa Gutierrez at Yilmaz Bektas at ng kiss scandal nina John Estrada at Gretchen Barretto.

Palipas na rin ang init ng John-Gretchen controversy dahil hindi na rin ito pinagpipistahan ng mga tao. Nakatulong ang mga statement na inilabas nina John at Gretchen para humupa ang kaliwa’t kanan na pagbatikos sa kanila.

Michelle, kumumbinsi kina Regine at Ogie na aminin ang relasyon

Nag-cover si Lhar Santiago ng Love To Laugh concert nina Ogie Alcasid at Ai Ai de las Alas nu’ng Sabado sa Los Angeles, California, kung saan panauhin si Regine Velasquez.

Sobrang hit daw ang concert nila na kailangang magkaroon sila ng isa pang set para ma-accommodate ang lahat ng bumili ng tickets.

Type na type raw ng mga kababayan natin doon ang sweetness nina Ogie at Regine lalo na’t open na sila sa kanilang relasyon.

Sa interview ni Kuya Lhar sa magkasintahan, sinabi ni Regine na si Michelle Van Eimeren pa raw ang nagkumbinsi sa kanilang ilabas na ang katotohanan sa kanilang relasyon. I just wish their affair is not sooo illicit. I heard from a friend (who is a close friend to a friend of Regine, bwahahaha) that Regine was one of the major reasons why Ogie doggie’s wife, Michelle, packed her and her daughters’ bags and flew to Australia to live there for good. If it’s true, it’s so sad.

Kahit na pinayagan ng GMA-7 makapag-promote sa kalabang network mula SIS to MEL & JOEY to WALANG TULUGAN ay hindi pa rin nawala sa sitsit ang diumano ay sabwatan ng GMA-7 at YES! magazine para masabotahe ang Star Cinema movie.

And then, lumabas na ang review tungkol sa pelikulang dinirek ni JOYCE BERNAL na hindi naman daw talaga kagandahan ang pagkakagawa.

Lumitaw raw na nagsentro lang ang atensyon ng direktora sa mga eksena ni Piolo, kung papaano ito aanguluhan ng tama para poging-poging mapalabas.

Tagumpay naman daw ang direktora sa puntong ‘yan kaya tuloy napabayaan ang kuwento ng pelikula kaya di kagandahang lumabas ito.

Eh hindi nga ba’t ipinagsigawan din naman sa TV ni Joyce Bernal na ilang beses na niya kunong tinangkang reypin si Piolo pero di siya pinatos nito. Ewan ko kung doon dinayalog ni Piolo ang, “Wala akong gusto sa babae!…..na kaladkarin?”

Dahil daw sa bigo sa inaasahan at ipinagmamalaki at ipinagbabanduhan na MALAKING kinita ng movie na SUPER sa SUPERLATIVES ng mga nanood lang sa PREMIERE NIGHT ng “Ang ganda!” “Bagay na bagay sila”, “This is the movie!”, “Da best” at kung anu-ano pang kaeklayan na nakasanayan na ng mga televiewers, eh si Joyce Bernal daw ang PINAL na napagbalingan ng sisi sa mahina sa takilya na pelikula.

Kaya hayun at pinayagan na raw si Joyce Bernal na bumalik sa GMA-7 para magdirek ng isang teleserye doon!

I can’t believe how Reg and Ogre can shout to the world their love affair and be sooo overly confident and proud about it. I’m so ashamed.

Ilang kaibigan ang nagbulong sa amin na mukhang totohanan ang alitan ng magkapatid na Regine at Cacai Velasquez.

Ayon sa aming source, nagalit daw si Cacai sa pag-amin nina Ogie at Regine sa kanilang relasyon, na hindi maganda ang timing dahil kainitan noon ng promo ng pelikulang Paano Kita Iibigin.

Malakas naman daw ang pelikula pero hindi kasinlakas ng inaasahan nila at hindi raw natuwa ang mga taga-Star Cinema.

Base sa plug na napapanood sa ABS-CBN 2, parang ang lakas ng pelikula, pero wala pa rin kaming naririnig na ingay sa mga taga-Star Cinema, na ewan kung may victory party sila.

Ayon sa mga narinig namin, pinag-awayan ito nina Regine at Cacai dahil apektado ang pelikula nina Regine at Piolo sa pag-amin nina Regine at Ogie.

In fairness kay Ogie, wala siyang kamalay-malay na mapaaga ng labas ang June 2007 issue ng YES magazine kung saan nakapaaloob ang pag-amin niya sa relasyon nila ni Regine.

Ehem… No comment. LOLZ.  That’s sumkinda family matter so others shouldn’t butt in.  Am I right or am I right?

Paano Kita Iibigin

NOW I know why singer-composer Ogie Alcasid was “too mad” about Regine Velasquez’s movie with showbiz heartthrob Piolo Pascual - Paano Kita Iibigin.

After watching the movie yesterday at SM City Cinema with my media friends Carla Cañete of Negros Daily Bulletin and Dolly Yasa of Panay News and NBN, the three of us concluded that indeed, Regine’s and Piolo’s movie was very, very romantic. The kissing scenes? All were superb! Imagine Regine and Piolo submitted themselves to 114 takes of kissing scenes.

The love making? Very intimate! The partnership? Almost perfect!
But you know that before we watch the movie, I, Carla and Dolly had varied expectations.

I and Carla wanted to see Regine being paired with Piolo. Dolly is for Piolo.
But while we were watching the movie, the three of us commented that Regine is not only a good singer but a best actress as well.

Carla hates Piolo’s role being a drunkard but believe it or not Piolo is really perfect in his role.

Piolo is one good actor - the best in his season. As to the movie, the three of us agreed, It’s the best! I won’t elaborate more because I know it won’t have the suspense anymore if I tell you.

Hope all the “broken hearted” people in Bacolod can watch this movie so to learn some things on how to be in love again and once they meet someone in the future, at least, they can ask themselves: Paano Kita Iibigin?

By the way, me, Carla and Dolly are not broken hearted individuals.

We just like the movie because we saw how Regine and Piolo were perfect in their respective role.

Wahahaha.  I love the movie.  I wanted to make my own review but I feel I’ll just be too biased because I really enjoyed watching the film.  And the fact that Regine is starring in it.  For me, the only flaw of the movie is the audio aspect.  Some important dialogues were drowned by the volume of the background music, or the actors tend to murmur what they wanted to convey.  It was kinda frustrating, really.  But all in all, I was truly satisfied.  It’s a movie Regine should be proud of, setting aside the box office result or their expectations.

But my heart and my mind are still arguing whether I should buy the soundtrack or not.  I know for sure the OST is wonderful but knowing someone is very much involved in some songs makes me feel hesitant.  Haaay, calamity.

I never felt this way towards any of Regine merchandise before. Tsk.

Anyway, the movie is wonderful.  But don’t take my word for it.  For those who haven’t watched it, see for yourselves.  It’s totally worth every dime you spend for the ticket.

But I think PG-13 was too harsh a classification for the movie.  Oh well, Regine made a lot of crunchy expletives so I guess it’s fair.  Too bad it’s not a family movie, hehe.

There have been a lot of articles concerning Regine and Ogie in the past days, and so too about her movie with Piolo.

Sometimes I feel too tired posting them coz I’ll be reminded again about that life-changing situation.

Anyhow, here are the worthy articles that I’ve collected.

Paano iibigin ang film na ito?

In all her movies (mostly box-office hits), Regine Velasquez had teamed up with various leading men — from Christopher de Leon to Richard Gomez to Robin Padilla. She, however, seems to be best paired with Piolo Pascual because they have excellent on screen chemistry. We see a lot of that in Paano Kita Iibigin which was graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

Paano Kita Iibigin tells the story of two people who have major issues against the world. Piolo comes from a rich family and is basically happy with life until his wife (Iya Villania) is killed in an accident he believes he caused himself. Losing the will to live, he throws his life away by refusing to take on responsibilities, getting into trouble and taking part in deadly sports. Regine, on the other hand, is an unwed mother of a sickly boy (Quintin Alianza) and had just been fired from her job at a call center. At a beach resort, the two meet and eventually fall in love after a series of fights and bickering.

Paano Kita Iibigin is jointly produced by Viva Films and Star Cinema. With two giant film outfits behind this project, you know it is a major production — and that shows in the impressive production values.

You are also assured it is a finely-crafted film because it is Joyce Bernal who directs Paano Kita Iibigin. Joyce is very creative person and as a filmmaker, she is very meticulous when it comes to production details. Again, you see that in this movie and you appreciate how she carefully works at every scene — from the dialogues to camera angling. (Even the music is good).

In the acting department, viewers are also assured of seeing above average performances because, to begin with, Piolo had always been a tried-and-tested actor you can entrust even with the most challenging of acting jobs.

In the case of Regine, I’ve seen her play all sorts of roles in her past films — from a catatonic post office clerk to a con artist. This is her best role so far and it is here where she gives her best performance ever.

With the two leads delivering fine acting jobs, the viewer will already be mesmerized with this film that runs to about an hour and 50 something minutes.

And then you throw in as support the very reliable Eugene Domingo. Playing the resort caretaker, she brings the house down with her wisecracks and over-the-top dialogues. I don’t know what this woman has in her (tons of talent, for sure) because she never fails to make me laugh in all her films and Paano Kita Iibigin is no exception. The best scene in the film, in fact, involves her and Regine in a comedic act that I still relish in my head long after I’ve seen it.

With all the built-in elements that make for an engaging film, there really is no way for Paano Kita Iibigin to fail as a movie (although I’m keeping my fingers crossed the Regine Velasquez-Ogie Alcasid backlash wouldn’t affect its performance at the tills). My only little quarrel with it is its tendency to stick to formula. And so you have comedy (very effective in entertaining the viewers), romance (like I said, Piolo and Regine look good together on screen) and drama, which work except that it went overboard in some parts, particularly toward the end.

Overall, however, it is an entertaining movie with a lot of engrossing moments. Paano Kita Iibigin is not difficult to love as a film.

Rain fails to dampen star-studded premier of ‘Paano Kita Iibigin’

Not even the sudden monsoon downpour and flashfloods stopped the star-studded premier of “Paano Kita Iibigin,” Star Cinema’s and Viva Film’s most romantic film of the year.

Lead stars Piolo Pascual and Regine Velasquez led the rest of the cast at the premier held at SM Megamall’s Cinema 9 and 10 on Tuesday night.

Other celebrities who attended the premier to show their support were “Soul Diva”Jaya, who was first to arrive. Also spotted at the event was former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Raquel Reyes and her family.

Coosome twosome Erik Santos and actress/comedian Rufa Mae Quinto said they made sure not to miss the event for the sake of their friend Regine.

Actress Sandara Park also showed up while R&B princess Kayla had her boyfriend, Philippine Basketball Association cager Rich Alvarez in tow.

Also seen at the premier were actress Beth Tamayo and former MTV Asia VJ Donita Rose.

“Paano Kita Iibigin” was directed by Joyce Bernal. Its regular screening started May 30 in movie theaters nationwide.

Congratulations. Now I’m really green with envy because I haven’t seen the movie yet. But I promise, I’ll be watching it this Saturday.

EXCLUSIVE: Ogie dispels rumors that Regine is pregnant

Sa kabila ng pag-amin nina Ogie Alcasid at Regine Velasquez sa tunay nilang relasyon, hindi pa rin matapus-tapos ang mga intriga at balita tungkol sa kanila. Isa sa pinakamaugong na balita ay ang pagdadalang-tao diumano ni Regine sa anak nila ni Ogie.

Upang linawin kung totoo ngang buntis si Regine o hindi, nagpadala ng text message kaninang bandang alas-diyes ng gabi ang Editor in Chief ng YES! Magazine at PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na si Jo-Ann Maglipon kay Ogie, na kasalukuyang nasa Vancouver, Canada. Matatandaang sa YES! Magazine umamin si Ogie tungkol sa tunay na relasyon nila ni Regine at ang paghihiwalay nila ng asawang si Michelle van Eimeren.

Sumagot si Ogie sa text ni Jo-Ann at ito ang nilalaman ng kanyang text message: “Ha ha. That’s too funny. I’d be the happiest if she was, but she isn’t.”

Pagkatapos nito ay nag-text muli si Jo-Ann at sinabi niya kay Ogie na sadyang napakalakas ng balitang buntis si Regine dahil nanggaling ito sa hospital circles. Sa madaling-salita, nagpa-check-up diumano si Regine sa isang undisclosed hospital at positibo ang resulta ng kanyang pregnancy test. Ayon pa nga sa balita, noong mismong araw ng premiere night ng Paano Kita Iibigin?—ang pelikula ni Regine kasama si Piolo Pascual—noong May 29, Tuesday, nagpa-check-up si Regine.

Hindi na marahil nakuntento sa pagti-text ay tinawagan na mismo ni Ogie si Jo-Ann upang linawin ang isyu.

Ayon kay Ogie, “The last time Regine was in any hospital was months ago! That can’t be true.”

Bagama’t inamin ni Ogie na nagkita sila ni Regine noong May 29, itinanggi naman nito na nagpunta ang kanyang kasintahan sa hospital nang araw na ‘yon.

Sinabi rin ni Ogie na kung saka-sakali ngang totoong buntis si Regine ay hindi raw nila ito itatago sa publiko. Hindi na raw sila mga teenagers para itago ang isang bagay tulad nito.

“This is something I would admit it gladly if it was true,” sabi ni Ogie.
WEDDING RUMOR. Isa pang maugong na balita kina Ogie at Regine ay ang plano diumano nilang pagpapakasal. May series of concerts kasi si Ogie sa North America (United States at Canada) ngayong June kasama ang comedienne na si Ai-Ai delas Alas. Sa katunayan, nasa Vancouver, Canada na nga ngayon sina Ogie at Ai-Ai para sa first leg ng kanilang concert.

Ilang araw mula ngayon ay nakatakdang sumunod sa kanila si Regine dahil maggi-guest ang Asia’s Songbird sa concert nina Ogie at Ai-Ai sa dalawang cities sa US. Dahil dito, marami ang naghihinala na posibleng magpakasal sina Ogie at Regine doon. Sa ngayon ay wala pang kumpirmasyon o pagtanggi sa kampo ng dalawang singers tungkol sa kanilang pagpapakasal.

What’s there to hide if she’s really on the way? They’ve already shouted to the world about their relationship which, imho, should be kept in the dark ’til everything is legally settled. Oh well…

OGIE, PAKAKASALAN SI REGINE

Sa pagpapatuloy na pakikipagpanayam ng Startalk kay Ogie Alcasid, inamin niyang may balak siyang pakasalan si Regine Velasquez pero tinitiyak nitong hindi sa taong ito.

“Syempre, papunta tayo ru’n. Di ba, iyun naman ang gusto nating mangyari? Pero hindi pa kasi ayos ang lahat, eh! Kailangan ko pang ayusin yung mga dapat ayusin. Akala kasi ng iba, iyun ang ia-announce ko. Hindi, walang ganu’n.

“Gusto ko ring i-legitimize ‘yung pagsasama na magkaroon kayo ng blessing from the institution, ‘yung approval like I guess ‘yung sa korte natin at syempre, sa simbahan,” pahayag ni Ogie.

Itinatanggi ni Ogie na nagli-live in sila pero magkasama sila madalas. Bukod sa trabaho, pinupuntahan niya ito sa Bulacan.

Okay naman daw sila ng pamilya ni Regine at napakabait daw ng mga ito sa kanya.

Hindi ganu’n kalinaw ang mga sagot ni Ogie tungkol sa pagsisimula ng relasyon nila ni Regine. Tinanong namin kung ilang taon na ang relasyon at kung kailan ito nagsimula.

“Matagal na. Matagal na. Lagay na lang natin sa matagal na,” sabay halakhak na parang iniiwasang idetalye ang tungkol doon.

“Kami ni Regine, we’ve been together for a very, very long time. Nung naghiwalay kami ni Michelle, na-in love na ako sa kanya nu’n. Totoo iyun.

“Hindi naman siya sobrang nagsapaw ng time, and as to the reason why ‘yung kami ni Michelle eh, nag-agree na kami ni Michelle na sa amin na iyun.

“All I can say is that between me and Regine, we’ve been together for awhile and kept it from the public because, we tried to protect a lot of people.”

Walang conflict daw kina Michelle at Regine. Magkaibigan daw sila at hanggang ngayon ay may communication daw ang dalawa.

Aware daw si Michelle sa mga nangyayari ngayon. Siya pa raw ang nag-e-encourage kay Ogie na ilabas na nila ni Regine ang katotohanan.

“She’s (Michelle) totally aware. Alam mo, si Michelle, is even the one encouraging me pa. Sabi niya, don’t be scared kasi nga, as I’ve said, we are the best of friends.

“Nang sinabi ko sa kanya na I’m finally going to break my silence, ano siya, sige, sabi niya, ‘It’s about time you do that,’ ‘yun ang sabi niya.”

Base sa mga pahayag ni Regine sa presscon ng Pinoy Pop Superstar, parang si Ogie na ang huling lalaki sa buhay nito.

Gusto nitong si Ogie ang lalaking makasasama habang buhay.

Si Regine din kaya ang huling babae sa buhay ni Ogie?

“Yes. She is the only one in my life now, and she will definitely be the last.

“I’m turning 40, and I’m very, very happy, at this stage of my life. I have a wonderful family, great kids. I have a great relationship with Michelle, and I have someone who I truly love in person of Regine. And, yes she is the last,” pahayag ni Ogie.

Yeah right! So if you want to take Regine to the altar, you better work it. Get a lawyer and process the papers immediately.

TRUE love nga yata ang dumapo kina Ogie Alcasid at Regine Velasquez dahil pareho silang nagiging iyakin lately.

Umiyak ang Asia’s Songbird nang magsalita for the very first time tungkol sa relasyon nila sa presscon ng Pinoy Pop Superstar last week.

Last Thursday naman, si Ogie ang napaiyak habang iniinterbyu ng staff ng Startalk, kung saan ay ibinuhos niya nang husto ang lahat ng nararamdaman para sa current GF.

Umalis si Ogie last Thursday papuntang Canada para sa isang series of shows at habang hinihintay ang kanyang flight, nagpa-interview ito sa Startalk, na iere naman ngayong araw na ito.

Pagkatapos umamin sa Yes! magazine, ngayon pa lang mapapanood si Ogie on national television hinggil sa much-talked-about relationship.

Hindi kasi natuloy ang airing ng interview nilang dalawa kay Ricky Lo last Wednesday sa The Ricky Lo Exclusives dahil bigla itong pinalitan ng Dennis Padilla interview.

Sa naturang panayam ng Startalk kay Ogie ay maraming sinagot ang singer, kabilang na ang napapabalitang pagpapakasal nila ni Regine.

Ogie: ‘I cried because I was touched’

MANILA, Philippines—After seeing his girlfriend declare her love for him, Ogie Alcasid was in tears.

Not due to sadness but for his admiration and joy over Regine Velasquez’s boldness in declaring what she felt after four years of putting their relationship under wraps.

“Well, to tell you the truth, hindi ko inexpect yun eh. To be honest I don’t want her to talk about us anymore. I wanted na ako na lang. She didn’t have to do that. As she said, I wanted to protect her from everything but she said that and I cried because I was touched, number one and number two, I felt bad for her that she felt na she’s afraid. That people will judge her. (In the same way) I was also very proud of her, very proud of how brave she was.”

In his first interview since the release of his published tell-all in the June 2007 issue of the entertainment magazine YES!, Ogie told GMA-7’s Startalk on Saturday that he only wanted to absorb all the punches out of his admission because his coming out was his decision alone.

“That’s why I broke my silence because I wanted everybody to just attack me. To just say what you have to say about me kahit hindi niyo alam kung ano ang totoo, okay lang yon. Kasi desisyon ko to eh, di ba? I wanted to spare everybody—my family, Michelle, and of course, Regine.”

Ogie admitted he was in love with Regine during the time he and his wife, Australian beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren, decided to separate. But he remained mum on the real reason behind their separation.

“Nung naghiwalay kami ni Michelle, nai-in love na ako sa kanya noon. Totoo yon. But hindi naman sa sobrang nagkasapaw ng time. And as to the reason why yung kami ni Michelle, nag-agree na kami ni Michelle diyan that sa amin na yon,” Ogie said.

Ogie revealed that Michelle and Regine were friends and that it was his wife who encouraged him to reveal the truth in the YES! interview.

Si Regine po ay napakabuting tao. Sasabihin ko po sa inyo, magkaibigan po sila ni Michelle. Si Michelle is even the one encouraging me. Sabi niya, ‘Don’t be scared.’ Kasi nga as I’ve said, we are the best of friends right now. Michelle and I are great, great, great friends. Nung sinabi ko sa kanya na I’m finally going to break my silence, ano siya eh, “Sige, it’s about time.”

Ogie also reasserted his plans to marry Regine but not in the near term.

“Gusto nating mangyari yon pero hindi pa ayos kasi ang lahat eh. Ay hindi (this year). I think yon ang inaakala ng iba eh. Hindi, hindi, hindi…wala pang ganoon, wala pang ganoon. I hope and pray it gets to that point. Gusto mo rin namang ilegitimize yung pagsasama niyo di ba? Siyempre one day I want to be with her.”

The lovestruck singer-composer also said he was very much happy with how things turned out in his life and that his love for Regine would be his last.

“She is the only one in my life now and she will definitely be the last for me. I’m turning 40 and I’m very, very happy at this stage of my life. I have a wonderful family, great kids, Michelle and I have a great relationship and I have someone who I truly love in the person of Regine. Yes, she is the last,” Ogie stressed.

“I only want to say to Regine, huwag kang matakot. Nandito naman ako. Mahal na mahal naman kita. At siguro mag-rest ka na doon sa love ko kasi hindi kita pababayaan,” Ogie said.

Omigawd. Puhleeaaasseee. Get a grip already. This is really getting annoying.

Ogie: Regine will be the last woman in my life

OGIE Alcasid left for a series of concerts in the U.S. and Canada last Thursday and guess who saw him off at the airport. Regine Velasquez, who else? “Talagang hindi na nila itinatago ngayon ang relasyon nila,” quips someone who saw them as Ogie kissed Regine goodbye.

The protective Ogie begged the writers who saw them to just interview him and spare Regine. “Ako na lang ang magsasalita,” he said. “I didn’t want to talk after the Yes interview came out kasi nakakahiya at nataon sa promo ng movie niya with Piolo. Now that the film is doing very well, nakahinga ako ng maluwag. I’m also happy that Regine and I can now show freely that we love each other. Ang tagal din namin itong itinago, but now we’re open about it. Noong mag-taping nga ako for ‘Ay Robot’ bago ako umalis for abroad, sinamahan niya ako sa set. Regine will be the last woman in my life, I swear. Michelle understands us and she knows about us. Magkaibigan sila ni Regine at walang problema sa’min. No conflict at all. All I ask is for people not to judge us.”

Regine will follow Ogie later this month to join him in his shows with Ai Ai de las Alas.

Sa kalagitnaan ng concert ni Mark, tinawag niya ang guest na si Yeng Constantino. Parang hiyang-hiya siyang simulan ang pagbirit.

“’Kakahiya, andito pa naman si Ms. Regine,” ani Yeng.

Para bang sinabi niyang ’di niya kinukumpitensya ang birit-style ni Regine at humihingi siya ng apology.

Pero nu’ng si Rachelle Ann Go na ang bumirit, wala siyang pasintabi kay Regine. Bigay-todo ang sweetheart ni Christian Bautista.

Wala siyang pakialam kung nandoon man si Regine. Parang lalo pa nga siyang na-inspire.

In fairness, hataw din si Regine sa pagpalakpak sa mga awitin nina Yeng at Rachelle Ann.

Naobliga si Mark na tawagin ito dahil sa sigaw ng audience na “Regine! Regine! Regine!”

“Alam n’yo po, si Redge ang mother ko sa showbiz,” aniya patungkol sa pagiging host ni Regine sa talent search na pinanalunan nila ni Sarah Geronimo.

’Di na nakatutol pa ang star ng Kapusong GMA-7, na nasa teritoryo ng Kapamilyang ABS-CBN-2 nu’ng gabing ’yon.

Lalong dumagundong ang sigawan nang tumayo’t ihatid si Regine ng masigabong palakpakan sa stage.

Pagkaabot ni Mark ng mic, bungad niya: “Parang tuwang-tuwa kayo sa akin, hindi tulad sa bahay ko na parang sawang-sawa na sila,” ang himig-pagbibiro ng Songbird.

Lalong lumakas ang tawanan at palakpakan nang ibaling ni Regine ang pansin sa ka-date na si Piolo. Tinawag n’ya ito para samahan siya sa stage.

Ayaw sana ni Piolo, hanggang sa bumalik si Mark sa stage para tulungan si Regine sa pangungumbinse rito.

Makaraan ang ilang sandali, napapayag din si Piolo at pag-abot ni Mark ng microphone, bungad niya: “Wala sa kontrata ko ’to, ah!,” na ’di namin maunawaan ang ibig sabihin.

Nagmistulang extension ng promo ng Paano Kita Iibigin ang concert dahil nag-duet sila ng theme song ng pelikula.

Nestor U. Torre’s unsolicited advice to Regine is correct. The first time I saw on TFC the trailer of the new movie starring Regine opposite Piolo Pascual, I told my sister, “She’s too old for him.” Also, the recent revelation of Ogie Alcasidùwhy Michelle left him, made me mad at Regine. She has denied the romance a million times, and now she has the guts to marry Ogie? Home-breaker! Time for her to reflect and make amends.

I’ve always made it a point to start my morning by reading the Inquirer’s online edition, especially the show biz section, as it somehow makes me feel closer to home (I’ve been in Chicago for more than 10 years). However, I recently came across Nestor Torre’s column, “Viewfinder” and was shocked that such chauvinistic and unfounded views are being allowed to get published. I refer to “Unsolicited Advice To ABC 5, Sharon and Regine.” First of all, saying that an actress needs to lose weight to be effective onscreen and that an actress cannot have a younger leading man only proves that he’s a blatant personification of the Filipino male’s famous double standard. How dare! Physical appearance has never been a factor in effective portrayals. Kathy Bates has landed many lead roles and she’s no Uma Thurman. Demi Moore has Ashton, Cameron Diaz had Justin Timberlake, just to name a few. Regine still looks young. And for Nestor to even mention “surgical intervention” just to make his point only adds insult to injury. Granted that he could prove Regine had undergone plastic surgery, that’s not his business. Besides, Regine and Piolo do look so good together that age should be a non-issue. It’s the chemistry that matters. It seems Nestor has a double standard when it comes to Pinoy actors. He has never criticized overweight Hollywood actors.

Elizabeth is furious, hahaha. wish she wouldn’t has stomach pains thinking about Regine and Ogie.

Carlo, you are so right. Mr. Torre is truly against Regine for a long time now, whether she did something good or bad, it’s still negative for him. So much about fair reportage.

Sabi pa ni Veronique, suportado nila si Regine sa lahat ng projects nito, lalo na sa pelikulang pagsasamahan nila ni Ogie.

Naniniwala ang Viva Films na magiging maganda ang resulta sa box office ng movie ng magkasintahan.

SA Oktubre pa isu-shoot ang pelikula nina Ogie Alcasid at Regine Velasquez na joint venture ng Viva Films at at GMA Films, pero pinaghahandaan na ang susunod na pelikulang pagtatambalan nila.

Isang mapagkakatiwalaang source mula sa GMA Films ang nagsabi sa amin na matapos maipalabas ang pelikula nina OGRE (pinagsamang Ogie at Regine), may follow-up agad ito.

Bulag ang magiging papel ni Ogie na ang karakter ay inspired sa akting ni Ben Stiller. Mala-Sandra Bullock at Drew Barrymore naman ang style ng portrayal Regine.

I won’t be watching the said two films. Ohmagawd! I even had to force myself to watch Captain Barbell two years ago (or is it three years?). But because of my undying love (then) for Regine, I shed some bucks to get myself inside the movie house. I just felt that the OGRE team-up was very much unacceptable to me (then). Especially now.

I’ve been wanting Regine to make at least two movies per year ever since I’ve been a fan. But now that my wish has been granted, I wanted to take it back. Anyone but OGRE, pleaasseee.

Someone even made me his/her mortal enemy in a message board because I told him/her not to curse Regine and Piolo’s movie. He was so sure that the movie (which was on the planning stages then) will be the biggest flop in Regine’s career. Now, I can make peace with him/her and tell him/her that I won’t disagree if he/she curses OGRE’S film ’til his/her last breath. (Biatchie eimichie, hahaha) At least I won’t be doing it directly. Sa premiere night ng Paano Kita Iibigin? last Tuesday sa SM Megamall— kung saan tatlong sinehan ang pinagpalabasan ng pelikula—nabigo ang mga umaasa na darating ang boyfriend ni Regine na si Ogie Alcasid. Umugong kasi ang usap-usapan na darating si Ogie sa premiere night although days ahead ay nabalitaan na ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na may shooting si Ogie para sa bagong TV commercial ng MLhuillier that same night.

Bago umalis si Regine pagkatapos ng premiere night ng Paano Kita Iibigin? ay nagpaunlak siya ng maikling interview si Regine sa PEP. Isa sa mga sinagot ni Regine ay ang tanong kung mauuwi ba sa kasalan ang relasyon nila ni Ogie.

“Oo naman!” diretsong sagot ni Regine, na very excited ding inilarawan kung gaano kaganda ang magiging hitsura niya sa kanyang wedding day.

Samantala, kaninang alas-singko ng hapon ay lumipad na patungong United States si Ogie kasama si Ai-Ai delas Aals para sa concert tour nila roon. Malakas ang bulung-bulungan na kasabay na aalis ni Ogie si Regine. Sa press con kasi ni Ai-Ai for Belo para sa kanyang smart lipo endorsement last Monday, May 27, nabanggit ng comedienne na makakasama raw nila sa kanilang show ni Ogie sa San Francisco at Chicago si Regine.

Pero mukhang malabong sumabay kanina si Regine kay Ogie dahil sa Saturday, June 2, ay grand showdown na ng hinu-host niyang singing search sa GMA-7 na Pinoy Pop Superstar (PPS). Kaya malamang na sumunod na lamang ang Asia’s Songbird pagkatapos ng PPS.

Ngayong kumpirmado nang susunod nga si Regine kay Ogie, marami ang nagsususpetsa na baka sa US magpakasal ang dalawa. Maganda itong abangan kapag nakabalik na sina Regine at Ogie sa Pilipinas.

Ihinatid ni Regine Velasquez si Ogie Alcasid sa NAIA kahapon nang hapon nang umalis ang huli patungong Canada para sa series of shows niya roon kasama si Ai Ai de las Alas.
Matagal bago nakababa ng kotse si Ogie dahil hindi na bumaba si Regine, na malamang umiiwas sa mga camera na nakatutok sa kanila.

Pinagbigyan ni Ogie ang Startalk at inilabas niya ang saloobin pagkatapos lumabas ang interview niya sa Yes magazine.

“Ako na lang ang magsalita. Huwag na si Regine. She’s a very private person, ayoko na siyang humarap sa matagal nang tinatanong sa amin. Ako na lang,” simula ni Ogie.

Tumahimik daw muna siya pagkatapos lumabas ang sa Yes magazine dahil nahihiya siya sa Star Cinema at nataon iyon sa promo ng pelikula nina Regine at Piolo Pascual.

Mabuti na lang daw at maganda ang takbo ng pelikula sa takilya kaya parang nabunutan siya ng tinik.

Kahit paano, hindi raw naapektuhan ang pelikula sa pag-amin nila ni Regine.

Nagulat daw si Ogie nang magsalita si Regine sa presscon ng Pinoy Pop Superstar dahil hindi raw kailangang magsalita pa si Regine.

“Umiyak ako,” sagot sa akin ni Ogie tungkol sa pag-iyak ni Regine sa presscon ng PPS.

Napaka-emotional ng aming panayam kay Ogie kahapon at sa bandang huli ay naiyak na rin si Ogie lalo nang kinunan namin ito ng mensahe para kay Regine.

Napaluha raw si Ogie sa aming interview dahil sa sobrang saya niya ngayon na malaya na nilang naipakikita ni Regine ang kanilang pagmamahalan.

Sobrang tagal daw kasi nila itong itinago at ngayon lang ito naging open sa lahat, maging sa dating asawa niyang si Michelle.

Nu’ng nakaraang Miyerkules ay buong araw na nag-taping si Ogie sa Ay Robot at nagbantay raw sa kanya roon si Regine.

Isinusumpa ni Ogie na si Regine ang huling babae sa buhay niya at naintindihan daw ito ni Michelle at ng kanyang pamilya.

Nilinaw ni Ogie na alam ni Michelle ang lahat at hanggang ngayon nga daw ay magkaibigan pa sina Michelle at Regine.

Nag-uusap daw sila at at wala raw problema.

“Smooth ang lahat at walang conflict, sa totoo lang. Kung ano mang may maglabasan na mga hindi maganda sa aming pag-amin, sana, huwag na lang muna kaming i-judge,” pakiusap ni Ogie.

Bukas ang karugtong ng aming panayam kay Ogie kung saan sinagot niya ang tungkol sa balak na pagpapakasal.

Abangan sa Startalk ang kabuuan ng aming panayam kay Ogie.

Yeah, yeah. Just pray ardently that your relationship will be smooth-sailing (as if they have a decent sleep at night) from now on.

Oh, how I wish Ogie is not married! Anymore!! Maybe then, I’ll be happy for Regine for finding the love she’s been looking for. Tough luck.

NAPAGKUWENTUHAN lang naman namin ng mga kaibigan ko ito noong isang gabi. Sabi nila napaka-noble daw ng ginawa ni Ogie Alcasid na sa kabila ng lahat ay binibigyan niya ng proteksiyon si Michelle Van Eimeren. Hindi siya nagsalita ng anuman tungkol sa kanyang asawa, dahil iyon daw ang kasunduan nila.

Nang ang kanilang paghihiwalay ay naisulat ng isang kolumnista ilang buwan na ang nakararaan, nag-deny pa si Ogie.

Nagpa-interview din sa TV si Michelle sa pamamagitan ng telepono at nag-deny din.

Iyon pala totoong hiwalay na sila.

Maganda naman iyong ginagawa at sinasabi ni Ogie na binibigyan niya ng proteksiyon ang asawang si Michelle kahit na hiwalay na sila, after all iyon ang ina ng kanyang mga anak.

Pero, maitatanong mo naman siguro, anong proteksiyon naman kaya ang naibibigay niya kay Regine, lalo na ngayon at tila lumalabas pang ang Asia’s Songbird ang dahilan ng paghihiwalay nila ni Michelle?

Minsan nang napagbintangan ng hindi maganda si Regine nang maging mag-on sila ni Ariel Rivera noong araw.

Naulit pa iyon nang si Regine ay matsismis naman kay Janno Gibbs.

Ngayon ay umamin si Ogie na may relasyon nga sila, na halos kasabay lamang ng pag-amin niyang hiwalay na sila ni Michelle na ilang buwan lamang ang nakararaan ay idine-deny niya.

Kagaya nga ng nasabi na rin namin noon pa man, ano man ang sabihin nila lalabas pa rin sa paningin ng mga Pinoy na si Regine, kung sakali ay second wife lamang ni Ogie.

Ang mga Pinoy ay hindi pa sanay sa pagpapalit ng asawa, wala kasing divorce dito, at ngayon pa lang halos nagsisimula ang annulment.

Kaya ang nahiwalay sa asawa kung mag-aasawang muli, kung sino man ang magiging asawa niya, kawawa dahil ang turing pangalawang asawa lamang.

Ano nga kayang proteksyon ang maiisip ni Ogie para pangalagaan naman si Regine sa mata ng publiko?

I remembered Yoo-jin’s dialogue (Kim Kyu-ri in Lovers) to Mi-joo (Kim Jung-eun) when she came face to face with the other woman (Mi-joo) after finding out that her fiance has had a change of heart. This was her dialogue;

“I’m the mother of his first child regardless of whether you die and wake again!”

Not so similar but I believe it has some points that is very Regine and Michelle.

And I used to hate Ed De Leon with all my might in the past. Because all his articles about Regine were negative to hateful. Now he has a reason to go all out with his write-ups because of the OGREs illicit love affair. Haay, life.

“Paano Kita Iibigin,” the first movie co-starring Regine Velasquez and Piolo
Pascual, will have international screenings. On June 8, it will be shown in
Los Angeles and San Diego. On June 9, it will be seen in Vienna, Dublin and Osaka.

On June 10, it will be shown in Rome and Nagoya. On June 15, it will open in Las Vegas, Seattle, Honolulu, and Guam.

It will be seen in Paris, London and Kamaguchi Saitama in Tokyo, Japan on June 17.

“Paano Kita Iibigin,” produced by Star Cinema and directed by Joyce Bernal, will open on May 30 in 100 theaters nationwide. It will have its premiere on May 29 at SM Megamall Cinemas 9 and 10.

Also featured in the movie are Eugene Domingo, Iya Villania, Mark Bautista, Quintin Alianza, and Robin da Rosa.

Regine Velasquez is apologetic that her much talked-about romance with Ogie Alcasid overshadows the publicity of the movie she did with Piolo Pascual for Star Cinema, “Paano Kita Iibigin?”

“Nakakahiya talaga even to Piolo as we didn’t know this would overlap with the promo of ‘Paano’,” she says. “Dapat ‘yung movie ang pinag-uusapan, pero napupunta kay Ogie at ‘yung pangungulit kung pakakasal na raw kami, which is not true at all. It’s not true na nagpapagawa na ako ng wedding gown or having a new house constructed. I really want to request the public to watch the movie dahil matagal ang hinintay namin ni Piolo bago namin nagawa ito. We were first paired in an episode of Viva’s ‘Habang May Buhay’ five years ago then sa ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ three years ago, before we completed this movie. We assure everyone na hindi sila magsisisi rito.”

Ethel Ramos, the film’s drumbeater, says she’s confident that the film will
be a hit. “For viewers now, hindi na kailangang nali-link sa isa’t isa ang
magkapareha and that’s been proven several times before. The important thing is kung maganda ang story at ang pagkakagawa rito. And with Star Cinema producing ‘Paano Kita Iibigin?’ there’s no doubt it’s a good movie that viewers will enjoy,” she proclaims proudly like a good pro at work.

Yeah, hopefully the movie is worth our hard-earned money.

Regine Didn’t Expect ‘This Reaction’ to Ogie’s Tell-All

MANILA, Philippines — “We didn’t anticipate this kind of reaction from the press,” Regine Velasquez told reporters in a media conference on Tuesday. “Ogie’s announcement was supposed to come out [next month]. We didn’t expect the news would break earlier.”

The singer was referring to the decision of singer-composer and comedian Ogie Alcasid, apparently her boyfriend, to “say something about his life, about himself” in a tell-all in the forthcoming issue of a showbiz magazine.

Everyone’s been guessing it will be about separating from his wife of 11 years and taking up with Velasquez.

Alcasid previously told close media friends that he had “promised” the magazine “exclusivity, ” meaning, he couldn’t talk to other publications about the rumored romance until the issue had come out.

Seen publicly

Not that the lovebirds made extra effort to hide the alleged relationship (only the announcement was closely guarded). They’ve been often seen together publicly. And when they appeared on television, they were invariably teased by cast-mates.

Sympathetic reports noted that Alcasid wasn’t free to make any declarations until his high-profile marriage to Australian beauty queen-turned Philippine celebrity Michelle van Eimeren had been nullified.

It was in 2003 that Alcasid’s romance with Velasquez was first hinted at in print. This was the year that Van Eimeren flew back to Australia with her and Alcasid’s two children, Leila and Sarah.

Alcasid and Velasquez steadfastly denied the rumors.

Curiously enough, when Van Eimeren was interviewed by phone on a showbiz talk program late last year, she said everything was fine between her and her husband. At that point, Alcasid would only say, “I love my family.”

The rumors persisted-specifically, that Alcasid had filed for annulment. He has denied that to this day, saying on a news program early this week that he had “not taken legal steps.”

At Tuesday’s press con, Velasquez said she was “happy with my life now, happy with the recent turn of events.”

Indeed, career-wise there seems to be little for her to complain about. The press con launched her Star Cinema-Viva movie, “Paano Kita Iibigin.” The day before, Velasquez had another press con for this year’s finals of the GMA-7 talent search “Pinoy Pop Superstar,” which she hosts.

She admitted the romance during the Monday press con-in tears-saying, in so many words that she loved Alcasid “very much” and that the reason they hadn’t come out earlier was that they were “protecting a lot of people.”

“Paano Kita Iibigin,” where Velasquez stars with Piolo Pascual, opens in theaters on May 30. Incidentally, the theme song was composed by Alcasid.

Ho-hum. I’m not too convinced that they (meaning Reg-Uge) didn’t know that the article would come out before the supposed month of announcement. I think Yes! might have mentioned or have stressed to OA that every month’s issue of the magazine goes available for the public a week earlier.

And I just can’t accept the fact that they’ve shouted to the whole world their illicit affair when OA does not have the plans to take any legal action against his marriage. Where does that leave Regine? A certified kabit and mang-aagaw? She’s been branded that way ever since forever, and OA just sealed it. Jeez.

With everything finally said and announced, comedian and singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid instinctively does the next logical step to show his love—through actions.

Last Saturday night, May 26, at the Music Museum, Ogie kissed a blushing Regine Velasquez—not once, but twice—for all the audience to see while doing a reggae version of one of his classic hits.

Asia’s Songbird watched the show entitled Ogie in the Sitti and was obviously nervous-yet-kinikilig when her boyfriend came down from the stage and walked towards her. The said kiss was caught by Showbiz Central on video when it covered the event, wherein bossa nova singer Sitti Navarro shared the stage with Ogie.

It was the first official public kiss of the controversial couple after Ogie’s brave revelation in the June 2007 issue of YES! Magazine confirming his long-rumored affair with Regine.

During the press conference of Pinoy Pop Superstar last May 21, a teary-eyed Regine declared feeling both happy and scared now that her relationship with Ogie is out in the open.

“I’m very, very happy but I’m also scared that people might once again judge me,” she softly explains while crying.

Many, of course, believe that Regine’s fear of being judged stems from her similar experience a couple of years back when she had a relationship with fellow singer, Ariel Rivera. Back then, Ariel was still involved with his girlfriend (and now wife), Gelli de Belen.

I just wish Regine is not so popular. I wish she is not a household name. Kids as young as three idolizes her and right now, I hope they just do it for her talent.

Even when the rumors were proven untrue (re:Regine and Janno, Regine and Ariel), the public was harsh to her, judging mightily as if she has wronged the people personally. What more now? Aigoo.

There’s a saying that the wife is the last to know, presumably about her husband’s “outdoor” activities.

Does this hold true in the case of estranged couple Ogie Alcasid and Michelle van Eimeren?

“No,” said somebody (let’s call her “Miss E”) close to the un-couple, reacting to Funfare’s item two weeks ago about Ogie and his…how do we call her, ladylove? …Regine Velasquez. “Michelle was, in fact, the first to know.”

Early on, about four years ago when the rumor linking Ogie and Regine started circulating, Michelle, according to “Miss E,” confronted Ogie about it but Ogie, as to be expected, denied it.

“But when Michelle confronted Regine,” added “Miss E,” “Regine admitted it. At least, Regine was honest even if Ogie was not.”

Michelle left for Australia soon after that, together with her and Ogie’s daughters Leila and Sarah. They haven’t come back since then. Ogie has been visiting them regularly.

Long before Ogie made his anti-climactic public confession, he and Regine had been lovey-dovey in public even as they denied to death that they were having a “relationship.”

“Regine has been insinuating that she has a boyfriend with whom she has been going steady for four years,” said “Miss E”. “You don’t have to be a mathematical genius to get the right ‘equation.’ After Ogie’s confession, it’s safe to conclude that he’s the ‘secret’ boyfriend Regine has been referring to.”

Unlike Funfare readers who expressed disappointment about Regine (her being linked to married men, Janno Gibbs besides Ogie, etc.), I’m not making any judgment. All I can give Regine is this unsolicited advice: Stop acting like a sweet sixteen tickled pink by intimations of puppy love. If you (and Ogie) don’t want people, and the media, to criticize you, behave. You and Ogie should refrain from acting “too sweet” especially on national television — that is, not until after Ogie and Michelle’s marriage is annulled.

Touted to be the Philippines’ answer to Hollywood’s Meg Ryan because of the type of films she does (wholesome romance-dramas like her latest, Star Cinema’s Paano Kita Iibigin? with Piolo Pascual), Regine may run the risk that Meg Ryan did. You know what a high price Meg Ryan paid for her daring air with Russell Crowe, don’t you?

Hindi totoo na tinalak-talakan o minura si Pia Guanio ng road manager ni Regine Velasquez nang mag-guest ito sa Showbiz Central noong Linggo.

Kumalat noong Lunes ang balita na tinalakan daw si Pia ng road manager ni Regine dahil nagtanong siya tungkol kay Ogie Alcasid nang umapir sina Regine at Piolo Pascual sa Showbiz Central para i-promote ang kanilang pelikula.

Takang-taka si Pia dahil walang ganoong insidente na nangyari at clueless siya kung sino ang nag-umpisa ng tsismis.

Si Pia, matatalakan mo? Ano ba ang masama sa pagtatanong niya tungkol sa paghahalikan nina Regine at Ogie sa concert nito sa Music Museum eh totoo naman na nagtukaan ang dalawa?

Hindi maganda para kay Regine ang kumakalat na tsismis dahil siya ang nagiging nega at hindi ang kanyang road manager na Maru ang pangalan.

Alam n’yo ba kung ano ang totoo? Tinabig ni Maru ang Startalk reporter na si Gorgy Rula nang subukan nitong interbyuhin si Regine habang papalabas sa studio ng SOP noong Linggo.

Pinagsabihan ko nga si Gorgy kung bakit siya pumayag na tabigin ng road manager ni Regine? Puwede naman siyang pakiusapan na huwag interbyuhin si Regine, bakit kailangan pa na magkaroon ng tabigan portion?

Knowing Gorgy, nagpasensya ito pero kung ako ang tinabig ni Maru, daaay, ihahampas ko sa kanya ang kamera para makita niya ang hinahanap niya! Wala siyang karapatang maging bayolente ‘noh!

Kung nagagawa ni Maru na tabigin ang mga miyembro ng media, puwede rin niyang gawin ‘yon sa ordinaryong fans ni Regine!

Omo! Uhmmm, ang harsh naman ni Lolit kung tv/movie cam ang ibig nyang ipang-hampas. Ouch!

Hindi kami karamihan sa loob ng sinehan nang manood kami ng Paano Kita Iibigin? sa opening day nito kahapon sa Cinema 1 ng TriNoma Mall (sa North Ave., corner EDSA, QC).

Tipikal na formula ng mga romantic drama ng Star Cinema ang Paano Kita Iibigin? na first big screen team-up nina Regine Velasquez at Piolo Pascual.

Anim na taon na mula nang iwan si Marteena (Regine) ng kanyang nobyong inanakan lang siya.

Matapos mawalan ng trabaho ay nawalan siya ng tirahan habang nagbabakasyon sila ng kanyang paslit na anak na lalakeng si Liam (Quintin Alianza) sa Heaven Resort na balak nang ibenta ng may-ari nito na si Lance (Piolo Pascual).

Panay ang inom ni Lance para makalimutan ang nangyari sa asawang si Tessa (Iya Villania) na namatay sa isang aksidente isang oras matapos silang ikasal.

Isang gabing lango sa alak si Lance ay pinagtagpo sila ni Marteena sa dagat habang pareho silang nagna-night swimming.

Katulad ng karaniwang romantic flicks ng Star Cinema, sa simula ay panay ang away ng dalawang bida hanggang sa pagtagal-tagal ay magkahulugan sila ng loob at mainlab sa isa’t isa.

Pagkatapos ng mga usual pa-sweet at pakilig moments ay saka papasok ang conflict para may dramatic highlight sa istorya, pero sa bandang huli ay silang dalawa pa rin para happy ending.

Mature at may pagka-daring ang role ni Regine dito sa Paano Kita Iibigin?.

May eksenang nagmumura siya ng sh*t, puny*ta at pu*ang ina. Kadalasan ay wala siyang suot na bra kaya bakat na bakat ang kanyang nipples sa mga damit na suot niya.

Ilang beses siyang nag-two-piece swimsuit habang nasa beach sila ni Piolo at panay-panay ang kanilang laplapan at lambingan.

As usual ay ang guwapo at ang seksi ni Piolo sa pelikula at halatang inalagaan ito nang husto ng Star Cinema.

Predictable ang mga eksena, tulad nu’ng dramahan nila sa may tabi ng eroplano ni Piolo na nauwi sa dyugdyugan sa cottage.

In fairness ay ang ganda ng love scene nila na pumayag sa mga himasan at haplusan si Regine at si Piolo naman ay parang ang sarap-sarap kumangkang!

Hindi namin type ‘yung dramatic scene nila pagbalik ni Piolo sa resort galing sa Maynila na iniiwasan na nito si Regine. Hindi man lang kami naantig kahit super-hagulgol na si Regine sa eksena.

Pilit din ang dating nu’ng mahabang breakdown scene ni Piolo habang nagpapalipad ito ng eroplano.

Mas may epek pa sa amin ‘yung simpleng dramahan nila sa ending na nag-iiyakan silang dalawa mereseng halos hindi namin maintindihan ang sinasabi nila sa isa’ isa dahil sa kaiiyak nila.

Sa mga eksenang panay ang tukaan at pagpi-PDA (public display of affection) nina Regine at Piolo ay hindi namin maiwasang maisip ang boyfriend ni Regine na si Ogie Alcasid, na siyang ka-PDA niya sa totoong buhay.

Grabe kung mang-agaw ng eksena si Eugene Domingo dito sa pelikula bilang katiwala sa Heaven Resort na si Liwayway.

Akala namin ay hindi na kami matatawa kay Eugene dahil halos magsawa na kami sa kanya sa dami ng pelikulang napanood namin na kasama siya, pero sobrang kuwela niya rito.

Laugh kami nang laugh sa mga eksena niya at aliw na aliw kami sa mga deadpan na hirit ng potah.

Pati si Regine ay pumayag na batukan niya nang malakas sa isang eksena.

Mas epektib dito si Eugene kesa sa mga pisikal na comedy na ipinagagawa sa kanya ni Direk Wenn Deramas. Ang best scene para sa amin ay ‘yung inuurot ni Eugene si Regine matapos itong makipagdyug kay Piolo.

Sunud-sunod na hirit nito, ‘Nag-ano na kayo, ‘no? Durian ba? Akala ko ba, gusto mo nang mag-resign? Akala ko ba, gusto mo siyang patayin?’ na hindi mapigilan ni Regine ang matawa.

Totoo ang mga tawa ni Regine sa eksenang ‘yon na hindi pinutol ni Direk Joyce Bernal kaya ang tindi ng impact. Ang lakas ng halakhak namin sa mga ad lib ni Eugene sa eksenang ‘yon, pramis!

Ang galing nu’ng bagets na si Quintin Alianza na gumanap na anak ni Regine na si Liam (kapangalan ng anak ni Direk Joyce sa totoong buhay).

May guest appearance dito sina Mark Bautista, Robin da Roza at Jett Pangan pero parang miscast sila sa mga role nila.

Unang nagkasama noon sina Regine at Piolo sa ‘Lobo’ episode ng Maalaala Mo Kaya nu’ng 2003 kung saan nagwagi si Regine ng Best Single Performance by an Actress trophy sa Star Awards for TV.

Ang lakas ng chemistry nila sa nasabing MMK episode kaya dito sa pelikula ay hinahanap namin ang chemistry nilang ‘yon, na parang hindi na namin gaanong nakita at naramdaman.

This time ay mas nagustuhan namin ang performance ni Piolo dahil si Regine ay hindi natural ang dating sa amin at parang akting na akting.

Huwag na lang kayong masyadong mag-expect ‘pag pinanood n’yo ang pelikula para ma-enjoy n’yo ito.

Laking pasasalamat namin at nandito ang sobrang riot na si Eugene Domingo na pinatawa kami nang husto.

Para sa amin ay pwedeng-pwede siyang mano-nominate na Best Supporting Actress para sa pelikulang ito!

What’s new with the bakat nips? It’s old news already. If the moviegoers find Regine confining her breasts or nipples, that would be so pretentious. Wasn’t OA called bakat king whatsoever before? Now that’s eew.

I’m looking forward to watch this movie, forcefully setting aside what’s been happening to Reg’s personal life. A co-adik who wishes to lie-low for awhile with her fanaticism of shongbird gave high praises about Reg’s acting (even though she claims to hate the singer for the time being, hahaha, but she watched the movie on it’s first showing date - hi lola, luvsya ). Me? I’ll watch it on the second weekend, harharhar. I’m sure I’ll have mastered the movie already due to spoilers.

PARANG hindi nga apektado si Regine Velasquez sa mga batikos ng ibang tao sa kanya dahil sa pakikipagrelasyon niya kay Ogie Alcasid. Sa presscon kasi ng Paano Kita Iibigin?, bigla siyang humirit na masayang-masaya siya sa lovelife niya, at masaya rin siya sa sex life niya.

At siyempre, biglang naghiyawan ang mga manunulat sa mga pahayag na `yon ni Regine. At lumabas na nga ang totoo, si Ogie ang tinutukoy niyang lalake na nagbibigay sa kanya ng kaligayahan sa aspetong `yon.

Pero siyempre, bagama’t masayang-masaya si Regine, tila hiyang-hiya rin ito, na ipinagsigawan nga niya sa lahat na may sex life siya.

At habang patawa-tawa nga siya sa harap ng mga manunulat, panay naman ang subsob ng katawan niya kay Piolo Pascual, ang kapareha niya sa Paano Kita Iibigin?.

Teka lang, bakit biglang ipinagbandohan ni Regine na masaya siya sa sex life niya?

“Joke lang ‘yon! Alam mo naman ako, madalas magbiro! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!” humahalakhak na hirit ni Regine.

Na dinugtungan naman ng personal assistant ni Regine, na magagalit ang Mommy Lyn ni Regine, sa mga pinagsasabi niya.

Well, kung may sex life man o masaya man si Regine sa sex life niya, with Ogie siyempre, natural na lang siguro `yon. Unang-una, hindi na sila mga bata ni Ogie, `no! At least, ngayon pa lang ay alam na nilang compatible sila sa kama ni Ogie.

At sa tingin ba nila, may maniniwala pa kung sasabihin nila na hanggang titigan lang sila ni Ogie?

Pero, `yun na nga, kailangang idaan ni Regine sa biro ang lahat, dahil konserbatibo ang kanyang pamilya. Hindi ba, lumaki nga sa probinsiya si Regine.

Sa totoo lang, mula nang umamin si Ogie sa Yes! magazine na mahal niya si Regine, kakaiba na ang halakhak ng dalaga ngayon. Sabi nga, mas malutong at mas makahulugan na ito ngayon.

“I’m happy with my life now. Natutuwa ako sa mga recent event sa buhay ko. I’m not expecting na ganun ang mangyayari. Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga press for the kind words they’ve written about me,” say ni Regine.

Anyway, gusto lang linawin ni Regine na hindi intensiyon na isabay ang announcement ni Ogie sa nalalapit na showing ng pelikula nila ni Piolo.

Katunayan, panay ang hingi ng paumanhin ni Regine sa Star Cinema at Viva Films, dahil sa nangyayari sa kanila ni Ogie ngayon.

“Medyo nauna lang talaga ang paglabas ng magazine, and we’re not expecting na it’s going to come out soon. Dapat talaga sa June pa.

“But in fairness naman to Ogie. Hindi niya itensyon ‘yon. Napag-usapan nga na June ilalabas. Pero since lumabas na wala na tayong magagawa pa,” sabi lang niya.

Dasal lang ni Regine ngayon, huwag maapektuhan ang pelikula nila ni Piolo pagdating sa takilya.

“Ang importante naman ay ang laman ng pelikula. At in fairness naman sa amin ni Piolo, bagay kami.

“Sa Hollywood, kahit may mga anak na, may asawa na or may mga karelasyon na ang mga lead actors sa movie, may kilig pa rin kapag pinapanood mo sila.”

Anyway, wala namang sinabi si Regine tungkol sa tsismis na pakakasal na sila ni Ogie. Pero, hindi niya itinanggi na gusto na talaga niyang mag-asawa at magkaanak.

Isa nga `yon sa mga pangarap ni Regine.

BINAWI ni Regine Velasquez ang controversial remark niyang “saka may sexlife” na karugtong ng unang sinabing “it’s so nice to be in love” sa presscon ng Paano Kita Iibigin.

Nagbibiro lang daw siya at kagagalitan ng ina. Kaya lang, ayaw nang baguhin ng press ang kanilang nasulat, wala raw bawian.

Hirit pa ni Regine, happy siya kaya labas ang cleavage sa suot na damit na plunging sa harap at likod. Happy si “Freakin’ Regine Velasquez” at dahil ’yon kay Ogie Alcasid.

Bagay na bagay sa kanya ang blurb ng movie na “Everyone deserves to be happy.”

Today na ang live guesting ni Piolo sa Sis at sa Sabado, abangan siya sa Startalk, Pinoy Pop Superstar at Walang Tulugan. Guest din siya sa Showbiz Central sa Sunday habang nasa The Buzz si Regine.

Muling nagpasalamat si Regine sa press na naging mabait sa kanya, ’di siya hinusgahan and for the kind words. Nahihiya ito kay Piolo at sa Star Cinema at Viva Films dahil sa halip na movie ang pag-usapan, pati relasyon nila ni Ogie, sumisingit.

Sa May 29 sa Cinema 9 at 10 ng SM Megamall ang premiere night ng Paano Kita Iibigin at sa May 30 ang regular showing. Ipalalabas ito sa Amerika, Austria, Tokyo, Dublin, Oslo at Paris.

Jusko!! That was my first expression.

My gas, my birdie. When will she ever learn? I mean, sex is not an open subject especially in the place called the Philippines. It’s sooo taboo for some groups of people and even to those individuals who claim to be liberated and modern. They try not to speak of those terms casually but with close friends only. I mean, hello! Do you feel proud of the fact that your sexlife is active when your partner is sooo much married? And she even mentioned her family is conservative? Duh!

At Regine’s age and stature, she should at least hold her tongue more often than not to stop degrading herself more. I’ve never read or heard other ‘respectable’ celebrities talk about their sexlife in public, just her. Tsk.

When she first blurted out that she’s no longer a virgin (I believe that was during the promotion of Till I Met You), I was so shocked, to say the least. I felt like an embarrassed Regine fanatic. Like I don’t want to admit I’m a follower. Geez.

And she did it again. I sometimes wanna hide in humiliation, lolz. She really should join a public speaking workshop. To at least polish her way with words. She’s very charming and easy to talk to, but she should know how to say things without putting herself in a bad light. She may have a lot of ‘friends’ in the media, but not all of them are sympathetic. Right now, she’s being grilled in the tabloids and almost all of the articles are negative. I can’t even look at the newspaper stand without being apprehensive.

Even though she said it was just a joke, the bomb was already noted. It was heard, recorded and written before she took it back. I guess there’s no deleting what was said. Pity.

I just hope Regine wouldn’t do that same blunder again. Ever! Please!

Recently, when I talk with friends and the topic diverts to Regine (coz they know I’m a fan), I always try to segue the conversation to my other heroines, Kim Sun-ah and Go Hyun Jung (I’m yet to post my adoration of her, hehe). Coz I don’t feel like defending her right now. Sigh.

Ogie admits relationship with Regine

In an exclusive interview with YES! magazine, Ogie Alcasid has admitted that indeed, he and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez have a romantic relationship, culminating endless speculations about the real score between them. This is what the public has been waiting for, the announcement that Ogie promised to announce in June.

Ogie so in love with Regine!

Ogie expressed so much love for Regine that he could even sacrifice his own career for her, he said. Reports of their love affair has persisted and refused to die even after their strong and continuing denials in the recent past, but now that he has come out in the open, “the truth has set Ogie free.”

However, he denied rumors saying he and Regine are now living-in. As to the house that he was reported to be in the process of construction for their future use, Ogie said he isn’t prepared to talk about that yet.

Ogie described Regine as humble, matulungin and one who has a very good heart.

Ogie and Regine’s friends (Judy Ann Santos, Dennis Trillo, Rufa Mae Quinto, Janno Gibbs, Karyll et al) expressed their support and good wishes for the lovebirds. Their home studio of course will always be there for them and in fact, GMA Films now has a movie project for Ogie and Regine which will start shooting shortly.

A teary-eyed Regine Velasquez gave her reaction to the press on Ogie Alcasid’s tell-all in Yes! Magazine, according to reports by the tabloid Pang-Masa.

Regine, on the other hand, no longer waited to be asked by the media for any reaction, but gave a statement during the presscon of the “Pinoy Pop Superstar 3” yesterday to fulfill a previous promise that she will give her piece only after Ogie speaks out.

Regine became emotional while she faced the press. She said she is both happy and scared now that the truth about their relationship is out.

“First of all, nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng press na naging mabait sa akin, at hindi ako masyadong hinuhusgahan. The truth is, I’m really happy ‘coz finally, it’s out. But at the same time, I’m also very scared, because of what people would say. And I’m also scared that I would be judged again.

“Marami na rin po akong pinagdaanan, and, the thing is, this relationship is really very important to me ‘coz this is the only relationship I have and will ever have, hopefully. And the reason why I’m scared is because, di ba usually pag inaamin, parang nagdyi-jinx? So, natatakot ako du’n.

She also explained why they had to confirm the rumors only now.

“Marami ang nagtatanong, bakit ngayon lang? Ngayon lang po kasi we were protecting a lot of people. He had to protect his family; he had to protect me.

“Madami pong pinagdaanan si Ogie na masasakit. Siyang mag-isa lang ang dumaan du’n, hindi ako kasama du’n. Much as I wanted to be there, I can’t be with him to go through those things. And I’m so happy na umamin po siya.

“But now that it’s already out, I just want to say thank you to Ogie and I love him very, very much!”

Songbird speaks up
Regine’s tearful confirmation

A tearful and obviously nervous Regine Velasquez confirmed the rumor linking her and fellow singer Ogie Alcasid.

“I’m really happy because finally it’s out, but I’m also very scared of what people will say and (because) I’ll also be judged again,” disclosed Regine yesterday, at the press launch of the “Pinoy Pop Superstar” finalists’ album at the GMA studio.

Years ago, Regine received a lot of flak following her brief relationship with another singer, Ariel Rivera, who was then the boyfriend of actress Gelli de Belen. Gelli went on TV accusing Regine of going after Ariel. Gelli and Ariel have since reconciled, gotten married and are now parents of two boys. Meanwhile, Gelli and Regine have also patched up.

“This is the only relationship I have and the only one I’ll have, hopefully,” said Regine, opening her heart to the press, whom she thanked for not being quick in judging her.

“’Di ba ‘pag inaamin, nagi-jinx,” she quipped.

The admission puts to a close the speculations surrounding the evident closeness between the singer and the songwriter. For years, despite denials from both camps, rumors persisted that the thirty-something diva and the very-much married Ogie were singing beautiful music. The two are co-hosts of “SOP,” GMA-7’s Sunday variety show, and business partners, having put up IndiMusic recording company, of which they are co-owners, last year. They have also partnered in several shows here and abroad. Ogie has also written a number of songs which were recorded by Regine.

“Marami pong pinagdaanan si Ogie na masasakit na hindi ko siya nadamayan. I’m so happy umamin na siya. Marami po ang nagtatanong bakit ngayon lang? Ngayon lang po because he was trying to protect a lot of people. He was protecting his family and me.

“Thank you very much. I love Ogie very, very much,” she concluded.

Making beautiful music together
SOUNDS FAMILIAR / By BABY A. GIL

The team-up is full of the stuff that a movie fan’s dreams are made of. Songbird Regine Velasquez and Piolo Pascual are finally together in one movie and they have recorded a soundtrack to go along with it. The picture is Paano Kita Iibigin and they play unlikely lovers who find romance while trying to straighten out their lives. The story not much different from others they have done before but because it is the much awaited pairing of Regine and Piolo, you can bet that movie-goers will be lapping up every bit of it.

Helping to build up the excitement is the music. Regine and Piolo do not really sing in the picture but their voices will be heard doing a number of songs in the background to enhance important sequences. These are included in the recently-released soundtrack album.

The Songbird’s expertise with soundtracks has been proven several times over. Nearly all of Regine’s box-office hits have soundtrack albums that also became big sellers and spawned very popular theme songs. There was You are My Song from Wanted Perfect Mother where she co-starred with Christopher de Leon; Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw from her first team-up with Robin Padilla; Pangako Ikaw Lamang with Aga Muhlach; Hanggang Ngayon with Richard Gomez; and Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka where she reunited with Christopher.

Nearly all of those themes were composed by Ogie Alcasid and it was also Da Pogi who wrote Kailangan Kita which was recorded by Piolo. So although the gossip columns may say otherwise, it is really no surprise at all that Ogie was asked to come up with the soaring, sentimental title song for Paano Kita Iibigin. Arranged by Mon Faustino, the song is featured in three versions in the album, solos by Regine and Piolo and the duet that you have been hearing everywhere these days.

Nice work everybody. The theme song is one you can count on to add a goodly sum to the box-office take of the picture. I also hope the attention it will generate will bring to focus the other songs in the soundtrack. These are not just ordinary songs. Regine who is also the producer of the album insisted on an all-Pilipino repertoire of originals that she chose herself.

The cynical souls out there, who believe that Filipino pop music is stagnating because of the stranglehold by the rock bands, should listen to these songs. These are from new and established composers and show signs of having lives of their own beyond Paano Kita Iibigin. All that singers and producers have to do is find the songs. Regine made the effort and look at what she came up with.

The lullaby Tahan by sisters Regine and Cacai Mitra and the lighthearted Lalala by Richard Poon are particularly enchanting. There are also My World with You by Nino Regalado; Manhid by Isha Abubakar; With You by Cacai and husband Raul Mitra; Muling Magmamahal by Jonathan Manalo and Cynthia Roque; Angel Eyes by Mark Manansala; and Sana Nga by Trina Belamide.

The big kick in the CD does not come from any of those new works though or from the theme song. Instead you get it from the irrepressible Regine’s version of the Eraserheads’ classic Pare Ko. With a perky arrangement by Nino Regalado, she takes the song out of the kantos into the world of the papables. Pare Ko is now the theme for all those involved with all the impossible Papas out there, like Papa Piolo, perhaps. Listen and you will find that Regine can also dish out leche with gusto.

All of you out there who want to see Regine and Piolo perform these songs from Paano Kita Iibigin in person, you can catch them at Market! Market! on May 25; Glorietta in Makati, May 26 and SM Sta. Rosa, May 27.

Piolo, apektado sa relasyong Ogie-Regine!

DAHIL sa ginawang pag-amin ni Ogie Alcasid tungkol sa relasyon nila ni Regine Velasquez, na sinundan din ng kumpirmasyon ng huli, apektado nang husto ang Star Cinema.

Aba, malapit na ngang ipalabas ang pelikulang Paano Kita Iibigin na bida sina Piolo Pascual at Regine, pero heto nga at kay Ogie nakatuon ang atensyon ng lahat.

Ang tsika sa amin, nakiusap ang Star Cinema sa publisher ng Yes! magazine, na kung maari ay sa June na lang ilabas ang isyu, na kung saan ay umamin nga si Ogie sa relasyon nila ni Regine, dahil makasisira nga ito sa movie nina Regine at Piolo.

Pero, obyusli ay hindi ito napagbigyan, dahil marami na ang nakabasa ngayon tungkol sa rebelasyon na `yon ni Ogie, at pati na sa pagsasalita ni Regine.

Pero, sa kuwento pa rin ng mga taong involved sa magazine, kapansin-pansin na parang marami pa ring na-edit si Ogie tungkol sa relasyon nila ni Regine. Parang iwas na iwas pa rin itong magbigay ng kumpletong detalye.

Inaalala nga raw kasi ni Ogie na baka masagasaan ang pelikula nina Piolo at Regine. At siyempre, lahat ng makasisira kay Regine ay hindi papayagan ni Ogie.

Pero, wala na silang magagawa, dahil Mayo pa lang ngayon, heto nga at nakalabas na ang magazine.

Kunsabagay, maganda na rin `yung ganitong sitwasyon, na umamin na ang dalawa. Kung titingnan mo nga, parang wala na ring masyadong nagulat, dahil noon pa naman, alam na alam na ng lahat sa showbiz na sila na.

Kaya nga ako, wala akong pakialam, `no! Eh, ano ngayon kung may relasyon na sina Ogie at Regine? Eh, matatanda na sila, `no!

Kasi naman! The fated announcement should have been on JUNE. Now, everything’s messed up.

But I really hope that the audience won’t give a care about the Reg-Uge issue and just continue with their plans to watch this movie. I will, for sure.

But I need to get myself ready to be bombed with questions when I meet up with my chinggus (friends) when we watch the movie, regarding this confession. Haay, prior to our meeting and I’m already exhausted. I’ve received a lot of text messages inquiring about Reg and Uge. As if! We’re not close okay!

Why do they have to confirm the issue to me and why does my opinion matter to them re:Reg-Uge? Because I’m a walking Regine encyclopedia, is that it? Just because I get some scoops earlier than when the public starts to read about them? Or maybe because they expect me to “okray” Regine even though I freakin’ adore her? Or all of the above? (I love the third point, hehe)

Ogie on Regine: “I love her, I’m crazy about her.”

The long wait is over. Ogie Alcasid finally made his much talked about announcement in YES! magazine’s June issue. In fact, he made two.

Ogie’s announcement, for some, may seem like a confirmation of what has been speculated since his wife, former Miss Australia Michelle van Eimeren, and kids, Leila and Sarah, migrated to Australia.

“I’m separated. Michelle and I are separated, and we have been… for a long time,” Ogie finally dropped the bomb.

YES! editors Jo-Ann Maglipon and Anna Pingol wrote: “Like everyone else, we’ve been thinking this, but when we actually hear it, it renders us silent somehow.”

Ogie proceeds to talk about being separated from his family, about his in-laws, and about the rumored annulment being filed.

Two hours into the interview, the name that all have been waiting for, Regine Velasquez, hasn’t come up yet. The question—Is there love between the songbird and the songwriter?—has not been answered.

“I think what I’d like to say with regards to Regine… I… I’m in love with her… very much,” Ogie finally said. There goes the second announcement.

The songwriter talked about his muse with much admiration. He answered several rumors that have been reported about them—Regine’s non-showbiz boyfriend, Ogie’s supposed jealous fit over the Regine-Robin tandem, Regine’s alleged jealous fit over Miriam Quiambao, Regine reportedly saddened by Ogie’s absence in her 20th anniversary concert, Ogie and Regine rumored to be living together, Regine being rumored to reason for Ogie’s break-up with Michelle, and Ogie and Regine’s supposed plan to get married soon.

The 16-page article on Ogie’s personal life will most likely put Ogie and Regine under much public scrutiny.

“E, ngayon pa lang marami nang sinasabi, e… So at the end of the day when you’re happy, if you’re okay, then you’re okay. It doesn’t matter what people say, you have to do what you have to do with your life. You’ve got to be true to yourself,” Ogie admitted.

Bago magsimula ang press launch for the grand finalists of Pinoy Pop Superstar (PPS) Year 3, hosted by Regine Velasquez, sa Studio 3 ng GMA-7 kaninang tanghali, May 21, may konting pustahan na naganap sa ilang entertainment press: Magsasalita ba si Regine about Ogie Alcasid’s revelation sa YES! Magazine tungkol sa relasyon nila o hindi.

Karamihan ay nagsabi na hindi raw at malamang pakantahin lang si Regine bilang host ng said GMA-7 singing contest. Some believed otherwise dahil, tomorrow, May 22, makakaharap din ulit ng press si Regine para naman sa promotion ng Star Cinema movie nila ni Piolo Pascual na Paano Kita Iibigin sa ABS-CBN compound.

Better na ngang maunang magsalita si Regine sa home turf niya bago sa ABS-CBN at para na rin hindi makasira sa promotion ng movie nila ni Piolo.

Sa initial spiel ni Regine, nagpatawa pa siya na alam niyang kating-kati na raw ang entertainment press na usisain siya tungkol sa rebelasyong ibinigay ni Ogie sa YES! Magazine, ngunit it’s not yet the time for her to speak pa raw in respect to the nine grand finalists ng PPS 3 na siya nga namang dahilan para sa nasabing press con.

Nang umiikot na si Regine sa mga press habang may audio-visual presentation ang PPS 3, bits and pieces ang mga binibitawan niya.

“Ina-absorb ko pa rin,” pabirong sabi niya sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) nang tinanong namin ang reaction niya.

After the press presentation of the nine finalists and before the question-and-answer portion, bumalik si Regine sa stage and this time, nagsalita na siya.

“First of all, nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng mga kaibigan ko sa press at sa mga taong naging mabait sa akin. Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyo at hindi nyo ako hinusgahan,” paunang salita ni Regine.

“I’m both happy and scared now right now. Happy ako although hindi halata dahil at least it’s now out. But at the same time, very scared on what people will say about me. I’m scared that I will be judged,” dito na nagsimulang tumulo ang kanyang luha.

“Also, scared ako dahil sabi nila kapag nilalabas na ang relasyon, naji-jinx!” pagpapatawa ni Regine.

“This relationship is important to me. This is the only relationship I have and the relationship I will ever have.

“Nagpapasalamat ako kay Ogie for protecting me. Hindi namin mailabas ito dahil napakaraming kailangang protektahan ni Ogie—hindi lang ako kundi pati pamilya niya.

“Napakaraming pinagdaanan ni Ogie ngunit hindi niya ako isinama at sinarili niya lang. Thank you, Ogie. I love him very very much,” pagtatapos niya.

Early this year, nangako si Ogie na may ia-announce siya ng June. Speculated nang ang relasyon nila ni Regine ang ia-announce niya, ngunit walang confirmation na nangyari. Sa unang press con ng Paano Kita Iiibigin, nagsabi na rin si Regine about this na pauunahin niya munang magsalita si Ogie bago siya magsalita.

Sa June 2007 issue ng YES! Magazine, nag-confirm si Ogie ng kanyang separation sa kanyang asawang si Michelle van Eimeren and that he is in love with Regine.

As if we’re surprised.

Regine have reasons to be scared. But why should she? Are they stepping on a lot of people with this coming out party? (Ano third sex?) If not, then just go home and plant kamote, lolz. Nope, I mean just go on and multiply. Sayang ang genes.

And why have I changed my beliefs and opinions about reg-uge? What can I do? I adore the freakin’ biatch (like me) and if she’s happy, then I’m also happy for her. I guess I’ve had a broader understanding once everything is laid out in the open. Speculations hurt the views of one person to another and so to clear things out and have peace of mind, just let it all be visible. Just like the what the old adage says, the truth will set you free.

I was just disappointed that they had to freakin’ fool everyone around with the non-showbiz bf. It’s so obvious na nga, pagtatakpan pa. Haay. And what about the freakin’ announcement about Regine being deflowered? That was a cheap shot if not unacceptable, just to cover up the relationship. Oh well…

Issue # 1: Ogie & Regine vs. Piolo & Regine?

Earlier on, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid has already kept the public guessing about his relationship with songbird Regine Velasquez. He has already granted an exclusive interview with YES! magazine (available in the magazine stands by next week). In that supposed interview, Ogie shed light about his open-secret relationship with Regine and the status of his marriage with Michelle Van Eimeren who is said to have also found a new man in his life in Australia.

In fairness to Ogie, he has been a responsible dad to her kids as he goes back and forth to Australia to look after his daughters. Similarly, he has taken good care of Regine who, we believe, deserves a man who is ready to stand by her in the person of Ogie.

Showbiz observers are just asking — what will happen to the Regine & Piolo team up now that the Ogie–Regine item has become truly newsworthy? And if reports are true that a certain Star Cinema personnel has asked people from GMA Network to downplay the Ogie–Regine news, do you think that the Ogie–Regine buzz will affect the Regine-Piolo film team up?

i SPEAK: Oh c’mon, do we honestly think that the audience will believe that there’s really something romantic going on between Regine and Piolo? Not that the lead stars are not capable of being in love huh — but the Pinoy audience is definitely more intelligent than how some people think they are. They can easily discern the Ogie and Regine real team up from the Regine-Piolo reel tandem.

Movies are make believe, yes — but let us not take people for a ride. Our concern is how to present a good movie and given all the talents that are involved in Star Cinema’s “Paano Kita Iibigin,” I believe that the movie can stand on its merits.

To Ogie and Regine, go for your love! To Piolo and Regine, good luck to your movie!
